CHEETARA of the THUNDERCATS by Arzeno CHEETARA of the THUNDERCATS by Arzeno
We at RAGE GEAR Studios are putting together an Art Nouveau themed series of images, showcasing Awesome female Characters from the 80's and 90's cartoon shows we grew up on.

This is the line art for Cheetara; my second contribution. She's from an awesome show called Thundercats.

She looks like a dancer turned fighter, nice. She would totally fit into the Rogue slot in the team- agile and fast but fragile. (I am such a geek.)

Lovely. And so much more appealing than the redesign in the new series.

Thank you Suz! :blowkiss: That series had better character and history development, but the character designs were so much more...I dunno...frail than the originals.

They were less superhero-y than the originals, I think. ;)

I saw some of the old episodes recently, and I think where the new series failed for me a bit was that there just seemed to be less imagination. The storytelling was better (if uneven in tone given how the series kicked off) and so was the mystery of the Thundercats' origins, and there were some design aspects that were good, but the re-imagining of the world was just lacking for me. The inherited players (like the Ro-Bear Berbils) were pretty much on par with the old versions and little of what was new really stood out in its own right. I mean, normally I like post-apocalyptic fantasty, but the new series felt a little too confined to sword and sorcery, I guess, despite the sci-fi origin story. No robo-pirates, no space cops on flying motorcyles, and a lot less sense that anything at all could come racing onto the screen. But I guess it could just be a difference in production eras as well; you could get away with a lot more crazy, trippy shit in the 80's.
